From our family legacy to your new, memorable occasions,
Bishop Farm is both history preserved and history in the making.
|
In 1934-35, Claude Bishop had a dream of building the best peach packing facility in Spartanburg County, and that’s what he did.
Bishop's Barn packed the first peaches that were arranged in boxes in the mid-1940s. Prior to that, all the peaches were packed in baskets. |
In the early 1950s, the Bishops
diversified their farming and the packing business was closed. The farm has had many other purposes since, but nothing to compare with the early days of the hustle and bustle of peaches rolling in from the farms and out again. They would then be shipped all over the country, some by trucks and some by rail. |
Thanks to the determination of Claude Bishop, a 3rd generation wave of the Bishop Family now uses the farm as a fantastic event space.
Today, we aim to give you the best rustic event experience possible and will continue to make improvements to meet the needs of our clients, while retaining the charm of the past. |
Our Family, Your Team
Nan and Rodney Bishop (mother-son duo) run the property and serve as your onsite coordinators. Nan has lived on the farm for over 60 years, and Rodney is a retired school teacher who grew up on the farm. Bill Bishop and Sherry Adams (Rodney's siblings) are an extended part of the team participating in the growth and evolution of the Bishop Farm Events business.
